Friends of Fiji
Fundraiser A Big Success
The bi-annual fundraiser in support of Peace Corps
Partnership Projects in Fiji
was held Saturday October 23 at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, DC.
Approximately 200 Friends of Fiji
& guests attended. The evening included a lovo
feast, dancing to music by Fijian musicians from California, a silent auction, and grand
prize raffle. Over $9,000 was raised for Peace
Corps Partnership. The grand prize winner of the trip to Fiji
was Ms. Eseta Vere, the
mother of the Charge d' Affaires of the Embassy of Fiji. We are told that she intends to give the
prize to the Embassy's driver. Thanks
to Tommy Foster and all of the other volunteers & contributors for a
memorable evening.
